ASTF Afternoon Delight Milonga: Saturday Afternoon – Alternative
Meet DJ “Meow O’Neva”, who started DJing back in 2016 when she was organizing a weekly 50/50 milonga in Portland, OR. During this time, she developed her DJ style by playing and experimenting with different kinds of music. In addition to dancing and DJing in the tango community, she also became involved in the fusion dance scene in Portland, which exposed her to a lot of new music that she began using for tango. Although she primarily prefers dancing to traditional tango music, she loves incorporating alt tandas into her sets as a way of proposing new possibilities for musicality and play.
